screaming baby
Well I feel like a mean mommy today. My poor guy has basically been screaming for 2 days… then it clicked. That’s how long he’s been breastfeeding. So I put him in his swing (screaming) and pumped… and gave it to him via bottle. He’s so happy now. Ugh. I guess what was more convenient for me was just making him more miserable!
I’m working on defrosting some of my frozen milk now, and going to start back with my pumping. Hopefully he’ll continue to be happy with that.
EDIT: WOW! Thor is so happy that he’s sleeping in his crib! (he hates it in there) I guess the solution really was the bottle. I think he gulps too much air while nursing…and with the drop-ins bottles he doesn’t.
less air = less tummy pain = happy baby = happy mommy

Have you tried gripe water or Ovol drops (Given before you feed him)?? Maybe he needs to be burped more? Could it possibly be something you ate that didn’t agree with him and it’s a coincidence?
I thought of another reason why Thor might have gas. I noticed when I used a nipple shield with my son that it stuck out off the nipple a little bit and maybe the air in their is causing his upset tummy? I hope he latches on well eventully.. My sister had the same issue with her daughter but eventually the breast feeding worked out. Hang in there.
Maybe you could teach your hubby to burp him? That was my job for the first few weeks.
And, uh, where did you get the camo baby sling? Usually we can only find things in painfully cutesy color schemes for our daughter.
Warren – actually, my husband is better at burping than I am!
I get him to help with that as much as I can.
As for the sling…look up “Little Rubi Carriers” on eBay — that’s where I ordered mine from.
