Mother’s Day
Thank you to everyone for checking in on me, and for all your thoughts and kind words.
I still have not had my “emergency” appointment. BUT, I haven’t had any spotting whatsoever…so that gives me comfort. I am still sore all over, especially in my sides. I hurt when I bend over to pick stuff up, when I cough, sneeze, or even laugh. It literally feels like I was in a really bad car accident. Except it was actually ME who kicked my ass… LOL.
I’m nervous to finally get the ultrasound… just like I was with the first one. I will probably be holding my breath until the technician says “Here’s your baby, and look at the strong heart beat…”
And then I wonder if they’ll be able to tell the sex…. I know when a lot of women go in for their NT Scan around 12 weeks that they find out…. that would be exciting. But I’m more concerned about having a healthy baby… even if I don’t know until his/her Birthday!
Well, Happy Mother’s day to everyone… I’m going to sit my butt on the couch as per doctor’s orders. 
These lil ones are so protected in there… they are padded with lots of fluid and I’m hoping that surely the baby is fine. Keep us posted!
P.S. I didn’t find out the baby’s sex at the 12 week scan, unfortch. But I DID see it wiggling and tumbling and scratching its head and its heart is just plugging away! Equally totally freaking thrilling!!
And P.P.S. My hubbie and I ordered a fetal doppler online… you can rent them for about $25 per month. In these weeks where I’m not fully showing, etc, it is an enormous, sweet comfort to be able to hear the baby’s heartbeat at home when I start to have “those thoughts.” Maybe think about getting one for a month or two, just for sanity’s sake.

If they do tell you the sex…not to burst your bubble, but don’t put too much stock in it at 12 weeks. They told me they thought my daughter was a boy around 11 weeks (and I saw what they saw to make them think that), and she is most definitely a living, breathing female 2 year old now. I just had an u/s with this pregnancy and asked when the earliest they can tell for sure, and the u/s tech said that 14 weeks is about the earliest that an u/s is truly reliable as far as sex.
