oh no…
I called in for my refill on Clomid just now. The pharmacist says to me “Ok, it says you have 20 tablets left, so I’ll fill that for you now and you’ll need a new script for next time.”
I didn’t correct her. I only take 10 pills per cycle. She’s giving me 20. That’s the equivalent of 200mg/day for 5 days.
The sick part? I’m almost considering taking 200mg.
But… if I ovulate on 100mg… would the 200mg make any difference? Would it give me more eggs? Better eggs? Or should I just stop being a ninny and save the other 10 for the next cycle (which I hopefully won’t need…)??
I know… I KNOW I should stick to what my doc said. But…. I’m edging on desperate now. I’m on my 27th cycle. 27th people.
I’m tired and I want results.
**edit**
Ok… I won’t double my dose. I promise. I will pick up all 20 tablets though… because the insurance company will think it’s only one month…and that will be awesome because they only pay for 6 months worth of fertility drugs. Yay!
I also ordered more Pre-Seed and Instead cups. Apparently I’m supposed to use one after BD’ing and it will keep everything where it’s supposed to be. Interesting, hey?

Before you double the dose, I’d check with either “Dr. Google” or your pharmacist or somebody. I used to be a pharmacy tech, and there’s something in the back of my brain that says that double the dose won’t help (may just make “evil clomid” twice as evil, without making you any more fertile), or that it’s even less likely to work. I could be vastly mis-remembering, so just check for yourself–better safe than sorry.

Sweetie, please don’t double your dose…a blown out ovary would be no fun! Save them for the next cycle that may never happen…
*sigh* I know… really, I do.
As for Dr. Google – I know that clomid is prescribed at 50-200mg doses.
BUT, I also know that I ovulate with 100mg.
*double sigh*
online pharmacy without prescriptionI’m just frustrated. Really, really frustrated.
I’ve been reading your blog for a while- lurker. What is soo funny, is that I considered the SAME exact thing and only b/c she would NOT up my dose and I wasn’t ovulating at all. I say just be safe. Wouldn’t want to hurt the ovaries! Good luck!
Kristina, I agree…especially because I only have ONE ovary!
Wow! Didn’t know this. Probably should have started at the beginning of your blog! I’m prayin’ for ya!!!
Did you call your doc to see if maybe they switched the dose for this month?
oh no… he didn’t change it. He called these refills in months ago. I knew I had 20 left, but I usually only get one month (10 pills) at a time.
I’d be so so so tempted to double the dose, too. But, if you know you’re ovulating, stick to the 100mg single dose & bank next month’s pills as a freebie.
Which hopefully you won’t need anyway!
Please be careful. HUGS
Hi there Erin. I don’t know what to say but I admire your strength. Stay strong and good luck with your next cycle. I will also be cycling around the same time as you, maybe.
hi ladies, I am new to this. I am 38 and have just started my first month of clomid, I did alot of fertility treatment in my 20’s and now I am remarried (nov 17 2007) and we really want a baby. I have no children of my own and have had several miscarriages, so I am praying this will work. I am experincing some preg systoms but not sure if it is the clomid or not. I am at day 21 in my cycle and stopped the clomid at day 9, could it still me the clomid? I am new to this and have no answers.
Erin, what mg did you start with? I only have one tube and my clock is ticking…..:(
I wish you luck with this cycle. Hopefully those extra pills won’t be needed at all!
