Love, love, love the new look. Unique, cute with lots of attitude. Really one of the nicest blogs I’ve visited. I definitely see your personality in this. DH is very handsome. Together, you’ll spawn some cuties. After “punkin” is born, I thought the following info. useful for your next pregnancy.

My very first pregnancy book had a chapter devoted to prepregnancy, and it was interesting. It talked about the girl/boy ratio, and I thought it quite interesting.

The population of females is higher than males, but more boys are born into the world. Why? Sadly, more baby boys succumb to SIDS, and boys are also more apt to suffer fatalities due to accidents, and such. Because of these facts, there are more females in the world.

Men choose the gender of the offspring. Male sperm have shorter tales, are faster, but die quickly. Female sperm have longer tales, swim slower (than the male sperm), and live longer.

Trying for a girl? BD BEFORE ovulation occurs. The male sperm will die off, leaving only female sperm to fertilize. Trying for a boy? Boys are easier “to make.” Why? When ovulating, libido increases (for women), and BDing usually occurs for this reason. Male sperm, being faster, will get that eggie first.

This, in the quickest nutshell I could muster,
    Brooke

Brooke, thanks for the advice. It’s interesting….but I can’t imagine DH and I trying to “choose” whether we want to try for a boy or a girl. We just want happy healthy kids :)

Yeah, I shoulda guessed that, but I’m around SO many people who want, want, want,…and they usually want girls. Some want boys, but, you’re right, it doesn’t matter…(healthy, please!)
