Do I have “I’m Infertile” on my forehead?
Today at lunch, I met my friend M at a local coffee shop for a bite to eat. Along with the 3 yr old she babysits, and M’s 2 1/2 yr old daughter.
Next to us was as an older couple peacefully enjoying their lunch. Until we showed up with the noisy well-mannered children. At least they were understanding…in fact they told us that they have grandchilren around the same age. And one on the way. And then they proceeded to tell us that their daughter and her husband had been trying for 4 years with no luck. And then they did a year of fertility drugs. No luck. And just as they were getting ready for IVF #1 …. BFP! While I sympathize with their struggle towards parenthood…I still hate them. I have something to say to them… much to the tune of “Duck Shoes.”
Yes. I am bitter. I am a horrible person. I am an infertile…hear me roar.
I too am a bitter, horrible person (evil grin)…and, strangely, I’ve come to embrace it – almost enjoy it – nowadays. I’m roaring too!
We should start a club. And have t-shirts. And bumper stickers. And…and…. the possibilities are endless!!
